We believe in radical transparency. Here's exactly how donations are allocated, based on The Honey On Duty Project's ethical money model.
Healing visits, crisis response deployments, airfare, lodging, Honeygrams, supplies, and on-the-ground support.
Team salaries, insurance, veterinary care (Dr. Brianna Horrocks, DVM), ongoing CISM and service dog training, and program development.
Storytelling, partnerships, website maintenance, future dog pipeline (rescue-to-healer program), and expanding national reach.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. The Honey On Duty Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. You'll receive a receipt immediately after your gift.
How much of my donation goes directly to programs?
70% of every dollar funds direct program work—healing visits, crisis response, and travel. The remaining 30% covers essential operations (salaries, insurance, training) and growth (partnerships, storytelling, future dogs). Zero dollars go to profit.
Are healing visits really always free?
Yes. 100% of core healing visits are always free. Honey will never charge a family, patient, child, or community for a visit. Large organizations (hospitals, corporations) are invited to provide honorariums or sponsorships to cover travel costs, but no individual ever pays.
Can I donate in honor or memory of someone?
Absolutely. During checkout, you'll have the option to dedicate your gift in honor or memory of a loved one. We can send a notification card to the recipient if you'd like.
Can I cancel my monthly donation?
Yes. You can cancel, pause, or adjust your monthly giving anytime by contacting us at donate@honeyonduty.com or logging into your donor portal (link sent after signup). No questions asked, no hard feelings.
Do you accept stock donations, donor-advised funds, or planned giving?
Yes! For stock transfers, donor-advised fund grants, or planned giving (bequests, trusts, etc.), please contact us directly at donate@honeyonduty.com. We'll walk you through the process.
Will I receive updates on how my donation is used?
Yes. All donors receive quarterly impact reports showing where funds were allocated, stories from the field, and photos from Honey's visits. Monthly donors ("Honey's Heroes") also receive exclusive behind-the-scenes content.
What if I want to sponsor a visit to a specific location?
We love that! Contact us at donate@honeyonduty.com with details about the location (hospital, burn unit, community, etc.) and we'll create a custom sponsorship package showing exactly what your gift will fund.
Can my company become a corporate sponsor?
Yes! We partner with airlines, pet brands, mental health organizations, travel companies, and wellness brands. Corporate sponsorships include logo placement, social media recognition, and branded experiences. Contact partnerships@honeyonduty.com for a sponsorship deck.
