Honey On Duty: Pitbull Service Dog Bringing Healing & Hope

Honey On Duty is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit powered by a pitbull service dog on a mission to bring healing, hope, and comfort to those who need it most. As a pitbull service dog who was surrendered twice before finding her purpose, Honey now travels across 15+ states delivering therapy dog hospice visits, crisis response support, and community education. This is more than a nonprofit—it's a movement proving that pitbull service dogs can change lives.

A twice-surrendered shelter dog turned certified service animal, now traveling America to bring comfort to children in hospice, burn victims, first responders in crisis, and families facing life's hardest moments. Honey proves that healing comes with presence, paws, and purpose.

How Honey Helps

Honey serves in three core areas, bringing comfort and compassion wherever she's needed most.

🏥

Healing Visits

Honey visits children in hospice care, burn units across the country (with a dream mission to Texas), hospitals, and end-of-life settings. She provides deep pressure therapy, tactile redirection, and quiet companionship. Every visit includes a Honeygram—a handwritten card left behind as a tangible reminder: you are not alone.

What People Are Saying

Real stories from those who've experienced Honey's healing presence.

"Before Bubba my 103yr old Gandpa passed away, I got to give him one last HoneyGram. Even as his memory was fading, he always knew how to smile when Honey leaned into him. One of the very last times, he whispered that he loved us. That's what Honey does—she stays, heart to heart, when words aren't enough."

— Stefan Walter

Honey's Handler

"The level of people involved in trauma isn't just the officers or first responders—it's the dispatchers, the tow truck drivers, everyone attached to that scene. Honey helps us remember we're not alone in it."

— Participant

"Honey isn't just a dog — she's a healer. Watching her work with patients has changed how I see recovery and hope. She brings peace to the hardest moments."
